Stock Markets ended the week flat on 23rd August. While the investors have been trading in gains for most of the week, during final session they remained circumspect. With indices oscillating all the way, the gains remained nominal with blue stocks ending in gains but IT stocks ending up on the losses side.
Going into the details, for the entire week Nifty50 remained in gains but did not escalate to new highs. BSE, on the other hand, lost some gains in one session but they did not get to drastical highs or huge lows. Hence, the week ended with gains yet mild. On the whole, Big indices of Stock Markets, BSE gained 33.02 points to close at 81,086.21 and Nifty50 gained 11.65 points to close at 24,823.15 mark.
In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading higher than the previous closing at 81,165.65 and then continued to trade between 80,883.26 – 81,231.49. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading higher than the previous closing too, at 24,845.40 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 24,858.40. While Nifty50 hit the lowest at 24,771.65.
Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.81 against USD on 23rd August 2024. Tata Motors, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra ended as Top Gainers in Sensex. Bajaj Auto, Coal India, Tata Motors, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Bharti Airtel ended as Top Gainers in Nifty50.
On the other hand in top indices of Stock Markets; Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Asian Paints, Titan Company, Infosys stocks ended as Top Losers in Sensex. While Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Wipro, Divis Laboratories, LTI Mindtree, Asian Paints ended as Top Losers in Nifty50.
