Actor Nithiin is set to star as a horse rider in his upcoming film directed by Vikram K Kumar. The film, which is expected to be a sports drama, will show Nithiin in a completely new look, according to sources.
This project is creating ripples as it reunites Nithiin with Vikram Kumar after their successful 2012 film Ishq. With Ishq being one of the biggest hits in Nithiin’s career, expectations for this new film are naturally high.
Nithiin has faced a series of box office disappointments in recent years. After A Aa, only Bheeshma managed to succeed, while films like Check, Rang De, Maestro, Macherla Niyojakavargam, Extra Ordinary Man, Robinhood, and most recently Thammudu, failed to impress. As a result, fans and producers are hoping that his upcoming films will turn things around.
The actor currently has two projects lined up — one with Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi titled Ellamma, and the other with Vikram Kumar. Due to the poor performance of Thammudu, reports suggest that Ellamma may be delayed, and the Vikram Kumar film could go on floors first.
Interestingly, the makers are planning a big-budget production for this film, making it one of the most expensive projects in Nithiin’s career so far. Despite recent flops, the production team reportedly has strong faith in the script and the collaboration with Vikram.
The film is expected to begin shooting soon and aims for a 2026 release. The team is said to be considering the title Swaari for the film, though nothing has been officially announced yet.
