Actor Manchu Manoj is set to make a powerful comeback with David Reddy, a gripping historical action drama directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti. Announced with a bold and striking poster, the film promises to deliver a raw and emotional tale of revolution, rebellion, and resilience.

Produced by Motukuri Bharath and Nallagangula Venkat Reddy under the Velvet Soul Motion Pictures banner, David Reddy is a period film set between 1897 and 1922. It tells the story of a courageous rebel who rises against the British Empire, rooted in the struggles of caste discrimination and social injustice. Manoj Manchu, in a completely new avatar, will lead the film as the titular character — a fierce voice of resistance born in the Madras Presidency, raised in Delhi, and now challenging the empire itself.

The title poster released today offers a glimpse of the tone and intensity audiences can expect. Featuring a stylised portrait of Manoj shaped out of the film’s title, it comes with the tagline: “Born in the Madras Presidency, raised in Delhi. Now, shaking the British Empire.” The artwork is both bold and symbolic, setting the stage for what could be one of the most impactful films in Manoj’s career.

In a meaningful coincidence, the announcement arrives exactly 21 years after Manoj’s debut in Donga Dongadi. From his first steps in the industry to this ambitious project, David Reddy marks a full-circle moment for the actor, now ready to challenge conventions with a compelling narrative.

Currently in pre-production, the film is expected to go on floors soon. With its blend of historical storytelling, emotional depth, and action-packed drama, David Reddy is shaping up to be a significant milestone in Telugu cinema’s portrayal of unsung heroes and forgotten revolutions.
