India in the second T20I against Afghanistan went with Yashasvi Jaiswal as opening batter and rested Shubman Gill. Virat Kohli joined the team and this is his first match in white-ball match post CWC 2023. India did not change the middle-order and bowling attack for the second T20I at Indore after Mohali one.
Again, India won the toss and elected to field first. Again, Afghan openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz(14) and Ibrahim Zadran(8) failed to give a big start to their team. Gulbadin Naib scored aggressive 57 runs off 35 balls. Along with him, Najibullah Zadran(23), Karim Janat(20) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman(21)’s late flourish aided Afghanistan to score 172 runs in 20 overs.
Arshdeep Singh(3/31), Ravi Bishnoi(2/39), Axar Patel(2/17) and Shivam Dube(1/36) took wickets for India. Unfortunately, once again Rohit Sharma got out for a duck. Virat Kohli(29) batted aggressively different from his natural style. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 68 runs from just 34 balls. Both of them did not allow Afghan bowlers to put Indian batters under any sort of pressure with their aggression.
Shivam Dube carried on from where he left in the first T20I. He, once again scored fifty, that is, 63 runs from 32 balls. He finished the innings once again and India scored 173/4 in just 15.3 overs. India won both the matches by 6 wickets and Dube came good in both of them, as well. Axar Patel for his bowling performance and setting up Indian win, won the Player of the Match award. India won the series by 2-0 and looking to make it 3-0 in the next one.
Shivam Dube’s show ensures India wins big against Afghanistan
