Team India has been able to win their Bronze medal match in Men’s Hockey of Paris Olympics 2024. This is consecutive Bronze medal for Hockey in Olympics. They won it back in Tokyo Olympics 2020 and now, they repeated the result in 2024, as well. Indian team won the match against Spain scoring 2 goals are going one down.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh maintained his form in this Olympics and scored two goals in this match. Marc Miralles converted a penalty corner into a goal against India. After being casual and off color in the first half, Indian team found their mojo back with Harmanpreet Singh’s strike just before half time.
In the second quarter, Marc scored for Spain while Harmanpreet score on the cusp of half-time. Later, he converted another penalty corner into a goal in the third quarter. With 2-1 scoreline, India continued to put Spain under huge pressure. With good possession and defensive display, they clinched the Bronze in this event for the second consecutive time in Olympics.
After the win, India team gave tribute to retiring great PR Sreejesh. Indian goalkeeper Sreejesh contributed heavily to the team with his experience and he is the main inspiration for young players to push themselves for the medal. Now, he wished Indian teams to continue this consistent performances and win Gold medal again.
