India started off 4th Day with 192 runs to win and 152 runs to be made over next two days for winning the series and match, as well. Rohit Sharma continued his aggressive batting approach from where he left off on third day evening. He went on to score good 55 from 81 balls. Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell early on 37, after putting a partnership of 84 for the first wicket.

Rohit Sharma fell to a left arm spinner Tom Hartley gentle teaser. Immediately, first innings bowling hero for England, Shoaib Bashir, sent back Rajat Patidar(0), Ravindra Jadeja(4) and Sarfaraz Khan(0). He was on a hattrick when Dhruv Jurel walked to the middle. Had he sent back Jurel, India would’ve been staring at a defeat with Gill left to be doing bulk off the scoring.

But Jurel like in first innings showed lot of character and resilience to put up a match winning partnership along with Gill. He grinded English spinners and scored 39 runs whiler Gill went on to score 52 runs. Gill reached his fifty with 2 sixes when he understood India cannot lose. Dhruv Jurel won the Player of the Match award for his batting prowess in both the innings. India won the match by 5 wickets as they chased down 192, by scoring 192/5 in 61 overs.

With this victory, India has won the series by 3-1 in the fourth Test. India will play the fifth Test at Dharmasala and England would be looking to win it and make it 3-2. Interestingly, this is first series loss for England after Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes came together as Coach and Captain with Bazball flavor of cricket.
