Rachin Ravindra showcases his bowling prowess against South Africa

New Zealand bowlers had a strangle hold on young SA batters

Rachin Ravindra has been able to announce his arrival on the world stage in CWC 2023. He scored big hundreds and then he followed it up with maiden double century against South Africa in Test series. After batting brilliance in first Test, he showcased his bowling prowess in the second Test on day one. He took three wickets and bowled 21 overs by just giving 33 runs.

South Africa has decided to send their young and inexperience team to New Zealand for this Test series. Kane Williamson has been able to score centuries in consecutive innings in the same first Test. This time around, South Africa has won the toss and elected to bat first. The young batters had to struggle hard against NZ bowlers to score.

David Bedingham scored 39 runs from 102 balls and Zubayr Hamza scored 20 runs from 99 balls. Raynard van Tonder scored 32 runs off 71 balls. Captain Neil Brand could only some fluency by scoring 25 runs from 38 balls. After they were reduced to 150/6, SA could find some partnership with Ruan de Swardt scoring 55 runs from 135 balls and Shaun von Berg scored 34 runs from 82 balls.

Rachin Ravindra is able to control the scoring and bowled his best. Neil Wagner(1/32), Matt Henry(1/44) and William O’Rourke(1/47) also did not leak runs in the innings. After such a hardwork, South Africa would hope their young batters could some how take them past 300 and put NZ batters under trouble with early wickets.
