Nisha Dahiya is unconsolable after she had quit due to injury

Nisha Dahiya, Indian woman wrestler, had to quit a winning bout in Quarter Finals of Paris Olympics 2024. She lost her bout against North Korea’s Pak Sol Gum due to sudden injury on her right hand. She sustained injury when she was 8-1 ahead and wept in acute pain. She was anticipated to win a medal in women’s 68 kg freestyle category.

After she sustained injury on her right hand, Nisha could not regain similar momentum and strength. Pak Sol Gum could easily overpower her and win 9 straight points to win the match. Nisha looked inconsolable after her loss. She wept as referee announced the winner and looked devastated.

Earlier in the match, Nisha looked absolutely unstoppable with her sheer force and strength. She quickly raced ahead of her opponent not letting Pak to even contain her. With 10 seconds remaining in the bout, she tried hard not to succumb and maintain the score at a tie on 8-8. But the pain and injury left her completely in agony.

While Indian contigent has not been able to convert great opportunities into medals, Nisha was hurt by her luck, badly. Unfortunately, in a bout, which looked like an easy win ended up in a loss. As even bigger stars will be playing in coming days, we can expect Indian contingent to win more medals.
