Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most successful bowlers in current generation. He has become a dependable player for India after his debut in International Cricket in 2016. He has been spearheading pace attack since 2019 and now, he has become Vice Captain in Test Cricket for India, as well.
Due to back spasm and fitness issues he couldn’t play for over one and half year. Hence, BCCI has decided to manage his work load and use him wisely with periodic resting periods for his body to not be over stressed. So, he has been rested for the Ranchi Test against England after being the best among Indian bowlers in the last three Tests.
He literally brought India back into the game in Vizag Test. He has been the difference between English and Indian bowlers in the Rajkot Test as well. Recently, he made headlines by becoming No.1 bowler across all formats in ICC Rankings with his stunning performances. In CWC 2023, he and Mohammed Shami with Siraj, dominated all opponents until the disappointing Final.
As the T20I CWC 2024 is around the corner and even IPL 2024 is coming up, BCCI has decided to give him rest. Star middle-order batter KL Rahul will also not be available for the Ranchi Test. India might go ahead with one pacer and four spinners attack in the Ranchi Test, as the pitch is expected to be rank turner.
