Jos Buttler posses ability to turn a match on its head at any moment. He showcased it numerous times in the past in IPL and Internationally for England. Now, he showcased another example of such ability against KKR, in IPL 2024. Jos Buttler did not look in his free flow till the later part of the chase but when RR required him to pull off some miracle, he performed one.
When it looked like KKR has the upper hand with score on 121/6 after 12.1 overs, Jos Buttler and Rovman Powell found some great hitting form and staying cool, Buttler finished the win on the last ball of the match. He scored his maiden T20 century and ended up with 109 runs from 56 balls.
KKR scored 223/6 in 20 overs and in the chase, Riyan Parag(34) and Rovman Powell(26) could only bat freely and aggressively. Overcoming the health issues, Jos Buttler kept playing ball into gaps and roating strike for most part till RR lost 6 wickets. He started his freak show from 13th over and finished match in favor of RR with a sensational 107 runs from 60 balls.
On the last ball, he took a single while he did not score runs for three balls in the last over. Still, he kept his cool and finished the match in favour of RR. RR won the match by 2 wickets as they 224/8 from 20 overs. Now, the team has almost made their place certain among qualifiers with 12 points winning 6 out of 7 played. If they keep up this positive trend they could surely be first team to qualify.
