David Warner has been through many highs and lows in his career. Sandpaper scandal has been most controversial part of his career. But he has been exemplary in setting up the tone for Australia in Tests, ODIs and T20Is with his aggressive batting as an opener. He had already announced retirement from Tests and ODIs. His final Test started in SCG – Sydney, his home ground on 3rd January.

Australia has been playing Test series against Pakistan at home. They won Perth and Melbourne Tests before Sydney Test. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood sent openers Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub for duck. Captain Shan Masood(35) and Babar Azam(26) tried to save the innings but Babar got out early.

Mohammad Rizwan scored aggressively for his 88 and Agha Salman also scored 53 runs. From 227/9, Pakistan has been able to score 313 with the help of Aamer Jamal’s aggressive 82. The bowler gave Australia bowlers nightmares with his unorthodox play and shots. Nathan Lyon finally got him mistime a shot at long on. Captain Pat Cummins once again took 5 wickets.

He took 5 wickets in an innings back to back in three consecutive innings in this Test Series. Many thought David Warner might come to bat tomorrow, rather than facing Pak bowlers for just one over at the end of the day. He came out while Pakistan cricketers gave him guard of honor.

As an opener, without sending night watchman, he walked out even to face just one over. Many experts complemented that he had set an example even in his last Test match.
