The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the second phase of the Indian Premier League 2026. This crucial phase will feature 50 matches played over a six-week period, running from April 13 to May 24, 2026, as teams intensify their push for playoff qualification. The remaining league matches will be hosted across 12 venues in India, ensuring a wide geographical spread and bringing top-tier cricket action to both metropolitan cities and regional centers. The major metros include Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, regional hubs such as Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur, and New Chandigarh will also play a key role in hosting matches.
The action resumes on April 13 with a high-voltage clash in Hyderabad, where Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals. This opening fixture is expected to set the tone for what promises to be a fiercely competitive second phase. The schedule has been carefully designed to heighten excitement, featuring eight double-header days. Afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 PM IST, followed by evening games at 7:30 PM IST, ensuring continuous cricketing action for fans. Additionally, several teams will utilize multiple home venues. Punjab Kings will divide their home matches between New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, including three games in the picturesque hill venue.
Rajasthan Royals are set to host four matches in Jaipur, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru will split their home fixtures between Bengaluru and Raipur. As the tournament approaches its final leg on May 24, the race for the top four spots is expected to intensify significantly.
