Deadly Suicide Blast Hits Pakistan’s Jafar Express in Quetta

Pakistan has once again been rocked by bombs. A massive suicide attack took place in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked Zafar Express train as a target. It seems that Majeed Brigade of BLA carried out this attack. At least 23 people were killed and 53 others were seriously injured in this blast near the railway track. The train’s bogie was completely destroyed by the blast. Many houses and vehicles containing silver rails were damaged.

The attack took place on Sunday morning near Chaman Gate. The attack took place while the army personnel were being taken from the Quetta Cantonment. It is reported that most of the dead belonged to the Pakistan Army. Immediately after the incident, rescue teams and officials reached and started rescue operations. Many of the injured are in critical condition. Baloch Liberation Army spokesman Giand released a statement to the Baloch media saying that they are responsible for this suicide attack.

In the past too, the Jafar Express was targeted by Baloch militants. Simultaneously, this train was hijacked and Pakistan Army officers were massacred. Many army and intelligence officers travel in this train which travels from Quetta to Peshawar. Because of this BLA is targeting this train many times. Officials are investigating the latest incident.
