Bangladesh secured a historic victory over Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first Test of their two-match series, held in Rawalpindi. This win marks Bangladesh’s first-ever Test triumph against Pakistan, making it a significant achievement for the team.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first, declaring their innings at 448/6. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan both played remarkable innings, with Shakeel scoring 141 and Rizwan notching an unbeaten 171. Despite this strong performance, Pakistan faced a dramatic collapse in their first innings, losing 3 wickets for just 16 runs early on. Bangladesh responded with a powerful performance, amassing 565 runs in their first innings. Mushfiqur Rahim stood out as the top scorer for Bangladesh, contributing 191 runs to their total. As a result, Bangladesh established a commanding lead of 117 runs after the first innings.

In their second innings, Pakistan struggled and was bowled out for 146 runs. This left Bangladesh needing only 30 runs to secure the win. The Bangladesh batsmen chased down the modest target with ease, completing the match without losing a wicket.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz was instrumental in Bangladesh’s victory. He played a pivotal role by taking 4 wickets for just 21 runs in 11.5 overs during Pakistan’s second innings. Earlier, Miraz had also contributed with 1 wicket in Pakistan’s first innings. This all-round performance underscored his importance to Bangladesh’s success in this historic Test match.
