Australia win against West Indies in the first ODI

Australia win against West Indies with 8 wickets and 69 balls remaining

After surprise victory in the last Test against Australia, West Indies are playing ODIs with the host Aus. In the first ODI at Melbourne, Australia won the toss and elected to field first. West Indies batter Keacy Carty scored a handsome 88 runs off 108 balls.

Middle-order batter Roston Chase scored half century with 59 runs along with Carty. None of the other batters had any impact in the innings.

West Indies managed to score 231 runs from 48.4 overs. Xavier Bartlett(4/17), Cameron Green(2/40), Sean Abbott(2/42) and Adam Zampa(1/56) took wickets for Australia against WI. In the chase, Aussie Opener Travis Head(4) failed but Josh Inglis scored aggressive 65 runs from 43 runs.

Cameron Green played a watchful innings but scored 77 runs from 104 balls. He remained not out through out the innings. Captain Steven Smith also scored 79 runs from 79 balls taking Australia safely to winning shores. Australia scored 232/2 runs from 38.3 overs and won the match with 8 wickets and 69 balls in hand.

Xavier Bartlett has won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling performance. Wst Indies will be looking to make come back in the ODIs to take forward their Test performance in the last one.
