PM Narendra Modi congratulates DRDO on the first flight test of Agni-5 missile

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has took to social media on 11th March to congratulate DRDO on the first flight Test of Agni V or Agni-5 missile under Mission Divyastra. The missile has been in development since a decade and this missile is developed with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.

This technology lets the mother missile to carry several baby missiles. The mother missile can launch baby missiles or micro-nukes, mini-nukes and even a big thermo-nuclear weapon. All these baby missiles can be launched above 400-500 meters target and hit multiple targets with their own guidance and control system. This ensures optimum usage of single missile with mutiple warheads.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his X, formerly Twitter, handle to praise DRDO for indigenously develop this ballistic missile under Mission Divyastra. He wrote, “Proud of our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.”

Well, this missile adds India to the elite list of countries who have MIRV warheads. USA, UK, Russia, France and China have these advanced technology missiles and now, India also does. This will help India to have a negotiable advantage as a nuclear missile powered country in International negatiations with dangerous neighbours.
