Pawan Kalyan has become one of the most popular stars of Indian Cinema with unprecedented craze among his fans. While he has been able to redefine style, attitude and rewrite box office records, he has always been known for giving historical comebacks as well. Interestingly, he saw humiliating failures at the box office and then ultimate highs in comebacks. He repeated the same in politics, too.
When not many expected his Tholiprema film to be a massive blockbuster, it became one and even started the trend of boy-next-door love stories in Telugu cinema. It followed with him creating memorable characters and everything he touched turned to gold. After Kushi, he saw a downfall like no other star hero and he came back with Gabbar Singh, Attharintiki Daredi after a decade to create new records.
In politics, Pawan Kalyan chose to wait and build cadre after announcing his entry in 2014 after AP bifurcation. He supported BJP and TDP against YSRCP and Congress. But in 2019, he decided to contest alone in 175 seats and even he himself lost in two places, he contested. Then, he promised a big comeback and scripted history in 2024. He won with a huge 71,000 votes approx. majority in Pithapuram and even won all seats his party contested.

While his big brother, Megastar Chiranjeevi, tried to create ripples with his entry in 2008-09, Pawan Kalyan did not jump the gun. Chiranjeevi had decided to merge his party into Congress but Kalyan’s Janasena tried to survive difficult 5 years against all odds. He kept inviting youngsters to join his party and with timely meetings and social service, he gained an image on a good man politician.
Just six months before 2024 elections, he decided to play a formidable role in bringing TDP-JSP-BJP alliance into existence. He played the bridge between BJP and TDP who did not want to go into an alliance. He even took only 21 assembly seats letting BJP get 6 MP seats and 10 assembly seats, limiting his party to 2 MP seats. This proved to be masterstroke as he won 21 out of 21 assembly seats and 2 out of 2 MPs, a rare feat no other party achieved.
Now, even BJP led NDA is dependent on TDP and JSP to stay with them in alliance to form a coalition government in Centre. From just winning 1 seat out of 175 contested to winning all his party contested and even playing key role in keeping alliance together in central government, he staged a comeback that will be discussed in Indian political history for ages.
