Nitish Kumar, JDU chief and Bihar CM, has decided to ditch I.N.D.I.A alliance against BJP and joined them to form coalition government. The Janatha Dal-United chief has been part of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar with RJD and Congress. He has taken initiative to unite all the opposition parties against BJP and NDA led government for upcoming general elections as well.
But he resigned to his CM post in January, 2024 stating that everything is not alright. He stated that he took opinions of everyone and then had decided to dissolve the ruling government of Mahagathbandhan. Earlier, he moved away from NDA in 2022 and formed government with RJD, Congress and Left Parties. Now, he moved back in coalition with BJP.
He has been sworn in again on 28th January, as CM of Bihar for the 9th time in his political career. He shook everyone with his decision. He had even accomodated BJP’s demands of two deputy Chief Ministers while he continues to be CM. Well, with this move, he has put even other parties in National wide alliance against BJP and NDA, in dire confusion.
Already, TMC leader and West Bengal CM Mamatha Banerjee, did not allow Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyay Yatra into her state. She has been stating her concerns about the alliance from the start. With Nitish Kumar moving away, Mamatha Banerjee might even think about ditching the alliance and fight battle alone in WB. How will Congress handle these setbacks? We have to wait and watch.
