Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is facing ED raids and he neglected their summons for long time in past. ED officials have decided to raid in his Delhi residence and they found some cash and seized his plane, BMW. He has been reported to be “missing” for 40 hours after the raids. He appeared at his party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s office at a crucial meeting.
He is facing charges in a money laundering case and corruption allegations. He appeared on Tuesday at his office meeting all the big leaders of the JMM party. As ED could arrest him in this case, the leaders seem to have suggested his wife, Kalpana Soren, to be appointed as interim Chief Minister, until the inquiry is over.
Shibu Soren, his father and founder president of JMM, has also faced such corruption allegations and even got convicted by trial court. He got acquitted by High Court and then continued to be a famous leader in Jharkhand politics. Now, Hemant Soren, is facing ED charges and has been called as a corrupt political leader by his opponents.
His party minister has stated that Hemant lives in the hearts of Jharkhand people and such false allegations cannot tamper his reputation. He has stated to ED that he will record his statement on Wednesday at his residence. Will he be arrested or not? Will his wife Kalpana Soren take up CM post? We have to wait and see.
