Enforcement Directorate, ED, has arrested MLC Kavitha on 15th March at her home. ED has been inquiring about her involvement in Delhi Liquor Scam Case. From past one year, she has been asked to appear in front of ED officials at Hyderabad and Delhi for inquiry. She did not appear before them for few sessions despite summons and appeared with many old mobile phones, one time.
After several sessions of inquiry, ED has decided to give a break to their inquiry sessions due to Telangana elections. After the elections, they have decided to conduct raids on her home after raiding her office. Joint Director has also been part of this raid and after concluding raids, they arrested her from her home.
ED delivered a memo about her arrest and the 14-pages memo has all the details about the reasons leading to her arrest. She has been arrested in the presence of her brother, ex-minister KTR and ex-health minister Harish Rao. Her husband Anil also accompained her till the ED car.
While getting arrested, she went into the ED car by waving to BRS supporters and workers who have collected near her house within few hours as the news came out. They asked her to stop and tried to stop ED officials from arresting her. But she stated that she will oblige laws and remarked her arrest as “political harassment” by BJP in central government.
