CM Chandrababu Naidu Shares Gratitude: On the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2026, It was published in the Gazette after receiving the President’s assent on tuesday that Amaravati is the sole capital of the state Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu took to his X account and shared ”The capital of Andhra Pradesh is Amaravati.”

On a post, Chandrababu Naidu shared, ” On behalf of my people of Andhra Pradesh, I express profound gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu Ji for her gracious assent to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2026, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of our capital. I thank the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji for his commitment to our state and his guidance, all MPs who supported the Bill, our state leaders, and every citizen who stood with us. This is a victory for my people of Andhra Pradesh, especially my farmers of Amaravati.”

After Telangana was formed under original Act of 2014, there has been alot of changes in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and it took a while to get back on track as individual states. Hyderabad was set as the capital of Telangana and there were discussions happening on the new capital for Andhra Pradesh. After many years, now, Amaravati is officially announced as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.
