Taare Zameen Par fame Darsheel Safary has opened up about his latest character, Raghu’ in the new comedy series Gamerlog, now streaming for free on Amazon MX Player.
Gamerlog is a six-episode coming-of-age sitcom set inside a makeshift e-sports bootcamp in Mumbai. The show follows a quirky group of young gamers as they chase their tournament dreams while navigating friendship, failure, and self-discovery. Produced by Abhinay Deo and Neeta Shah and directed by Arya Deo, the series stars Darsheel alongside Anjali Sivaraman, Chinmay Chandraunshuh, Kunal Bhan, Chetan Dhawan, Shubroy Chowdhury, and Akash Menon.
Speaking about his process, Darsheel Safary said he had to “go back to a certain raw space” to fully connect with Raghu, a wide-eyed optimist with big dreams. “I wanted to find that space where nothing else matters but the goal. Raghu’s innocence isn’t naive; it’s pure. He’s someone who’ll go to any length to make things happen, and I really related to that,” he said.
Describing the connection he felt with the character, Darsheel added, “I’m emotional and passionate by nature, and I wanted Raghu to feel as real as possible. When you enjoy playing a character, the performance becomes more meaningful, and that’s exactly what happened here.”
With its blend of heart and humour, Gamerlog aims to strike a chord with younger audiences, especially those navigating modern dreams and digital distractions.
The series is now streaming for free on Amazon MX Player via mobile apps, Prime Video, Amazon’s shopping app, Fire TV, and connected smart TVs.
