Fact Check: Is Petrol-Diesel Price Rising by ₹28? Govt Responds

Petrol-Diesel Price: Social media platforms spread these rumors which claimed that Indian fuel prices would experience an upcoming increase between 25 and 28 rupees per litre. The online community spread those claims which people used to explain the connection between increasing global crude oil prices and the financial difficulties that oil marketing companies encountered.

People experienced public unrest because they believed that the situation could lead to a major price increase.

Is Petrol-Diesel Price Rising by ₹28?

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has firmly denied these reports. Officials clarified this stating, ”There are some news reports suggesting a price hike in petrol and diesel. It is hereby clarified that there is no such proposal under consideration by the government. Such news items are designed to create fear and panic among citizens and are mischievous and misleading,” in a post on X.

The government does not currently consider any proposal that would increase prices by 28 rupees. The reports are misleading and not based on any official decision. The government continues to monitor fuel prices to ensure stability. The statement demonstrates that all viral claims have been proven to be false.

People began to spread false information because they could not understand the difference between analysis work and official government decisions.
