Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda doesn’t advise his brother about his career. Vijay, who first gained fame through supporting roles, has now become one of the leading stars in Tollywood. His journey to stardom is seen as an inspiration to many. Following in his footsteps, his younger brother Anand Deverakonda also entered the film industry. Though Anand hasn’t achieved the same level of success as Vijay, he has managed to earn his own identity.
Vijay is now getting ready for the release of his upcoming film Kingdom, which will hit cinemas across India on 31 July. During the promotions, Vijay Deverakonda shared some personal thoughts about his brother and career.
Vijay said he deeply cares for Anand, but he does not offer him advice about films. He explained that even in the future, with his own son, he would take a similar approach—only listening when they speak, not asking questions. “People should learn from their own mistakes,” Vijay added.
He said the film industry is tough, and he knows it well. That’s why he told Anand clearly at the beginning: if you believe in yourself, enter the field. If not, don’t. While Anand struggled with this in the beginning, Vijay said he is now used to it and finding his own style in cinema.
Vijay also shared an interesting story. For a long time, he didn’t know that Tamil actors Suriya and Karthi are brothers. “I became a fan of Suriya after watching Ghajini,” Vijay said. “His acting and dancing impressed me so much. After entering the industry, I even tried many times to meet both Suriya and Karthi,” he added.
Vijay’s honesty and approach towards life and family give fans a deeper look into his values—not just as an actor, but as a person.
