Suriya has become one of the most popular actors in Telugu States even though he belongs to Tamil Cinema. His films like Ghajini, Surya S/O Krishnan, Yamudu have earned him a star status. From past decade, he has been delivering some underwhelming films and now, he is coming with huge budget film, Kanguva. The trailer of the film has been unveiled on 12th August to much fanfare.
The trailer showcased Suriya and Bobby Deol has waring heads of two tribes. Kanguva film also teased about battle between two sects – one tribe trying to establish control and another looking to oppose oppression. Suriya, obviously, is against the oppression and is the leader of oppressed tribal group. Visually, the makers have put in lot of effort to bring period time.
But the music from Devi Sri Prasad and even eccentricity portrayed by the actors did not go well with movie lovers. Kanguva trailer attracted more trolls for the eccentricity while visually, it looked very good. The over-the-top display of emotions and dialogue delivery, did not seem to connect with those who watched the trailer. Suriya fans have huge expectations and even they seemed disappointed.
The visual pattern looked heavily inspired from Baahubali while the performances seemed to be exaggerated for no reason. Siva, director of films like Vedalam, Siruthai, Viswasam, seems to have treaded into exaggeration waters for Kanguva. Every emotion seems to have been performed in a pitch that is a notch higher than normal. Let’s see how people will react to movie in theatres on 10th October.
