Singer Shreya Ghoshal has expressed deep sorrow over the recent tragic murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata. The news has profoundly affected her, leading her to postpone her scheduled concert in the city. Ghoshal shared her feelings and decision on the social media platform X, expressing her anguish over the horrific incident.

In her statement, Ghoshal conveyed, “I am deeply saddened by the heinous act that occurred in Kolkata. The brutality of the incident has shaken me to my core. When I learned about it, I felt a physical ache. The violence against the victim is a severe blow, and it is a deeply cruel act. In light of this tragedy, I am postponing my concert in Kolkata, originally scheduled for September. A new date will be announced soon.”

The singer emphasized that while she understands the importance of her performance to her fans, the safety and dignity of women must take precedence. The accused has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody as the investigation continues.
