Films in September: A Mixed Bag of Excitement and Anticipation

Movies in September

August saw the release of several films amid high expectations, but aside from Aai, Committee Kurrolu, Tanglaan, and Safida Saturday, most did not capture the audience’s interest. As September unfolds, the film industry is gearing up for a fresh lineup of diverse releases.

Festival of Stories

To celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi on September 7, a range of unique films will hit the screens. Kicking off the month, The Greatest of All Time (The Goat) is set to release on September 5. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this sci-fi action drama features Vijay in dual roles and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the heroine. The film also includes a special appearance by late actor Vijayakanth. The director has built high expectations by promising an unpredictable story and narration.

On September 6, three notable films will compete for attention: 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu, starring Nivetha Thomas and Vishwadev R Priyadarshi and directed by Nandakishore Emani; Nara Rohit’s Sundarakanda, directed by Venkatesh Nimmala Pudi with Virti Waghvi as the lead actress; and Kangana Ranaut’s political drama Emergency, which explores the era of Indira Gandhi, India’s first female Prime Minister.

September 7 will see the release of Suhas’s family entertainer Janaka Aithe Ganaka, Raj Tarun’s romantic comedy Bhale Unnade, and Tejas Kancherla’s Uruku Patela.

A Quiet Second Week

The second week of September will be relatively quiet, with no major releases scheduled. However, on September 13, Mathu Vadalara 2 will debut, featuring Sri Simha, Chetan Krishna, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Rajendra Prasad, and Regina. This film, based on the lives of theater artists, is expected to draw attention. Additionally, Tovino Thomas’s pan-India film ARM (Ajayante Randham Motion) is anticipated for release in the third week of September.

Anticipation Builds for NTR’s Devara

As September concludes, all eyes will be on Devara Part 1, set to release on September 27. Directed by Koratala Siva, this film stars NTR in dual roles and marks Janhvi Kapoor’s Tollywood debut. Saif Ali Khan also features in the film. With post-production underway, Devara promises to be a major highlight of the month, bringing September’s cinematic offerings to a grand close.
