The recent Justice Hema Committee report has significantly impacted the Malayalam film industry, prompting a strong response from Mohanlal, the former president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). In light of the revelations, Mohanlal has urged the public not to target AMMA or the broader industry, stressing the importance of separating the actions of individuals from the industry as a whole.

Mohanlal, who stepped down as AMMA president following allegations of sexual harassment, expressed his support for the committee’s findings and welcomed the government’s decision to release the report. He acknowledged the report’s significance but emphasized that it is not feasible to address every question and concern raised.

“The Malayalam film industry is known for its dedication and hard work. It is crucial to remember that the industry comprises many people, and it is unfair to blame everyone for the actions of a few,” Mohanlal stated. He highlighted the industry’s commitment to high standards and urged the public to avoid casting a shadow over the entire field due to ongoing investigations.

Mohanlal’s call to the public comes at a critical time when the industry is grappling with the fallout from the report. He urged that while it is essential for the culprits to face justice, the broader community should not be punished for the misdeeds of a few. His statement reflects a plea for understanding and support as the industry navigates through this challenging period.
