The first season of Save The Tigers has been a surprise hit on OTT. Priyadarshi, Abhinav and Krishna Chaitanya trio excelled in Masti, Grand Masti, Pellam Oorelithe, Tirumala Tirupathi Venkatesa, Kshemamga Velli Labhamga Randi kind of set up. Viewers loved watching their antics and the comedy web series had many moments that became meme moments. Hence. the makers have brought second season to the famous show on 15th March. Let’s discuss about the season 2 and how it entertains in comparison with the first one.

Analysis:
While the first season has been a hit among the viewers, season 2 doesn’t really stand up to the hype. The first two episodes start off in same style as the season one. But as the story unfolds the comedy starts to fizzle out. The loud characters in unfunny scenes and situations tend to irritate us. Mainly, Srikanth Iyyengar and Priyadarshi had been asked to over do everything a tad bit. The writing fails to sustain any kind of momentum it had set in the first season and first two episodes.

Abhinav Gomatam has some moments to shine and he does have natural timing to shine in those scenes. But he too finds it hard to sustain as the scenes are stretched out to the maximum. Even the number of characters have been increased so much that the plot has lost its focus. Above everything, the repetitiveness of the jokes and some sort of scenes make it even more hard to watch without skipping. Had the jokes have been as good and sharp as season one, this could been a good addition to previous season.

Save The Tigers Season 2 not as good as one
Save The Tigers Season 2 not as good as one

The plot has enough material that has not been explored to the fullest. Krishna Chaitanya could not bring the same energy like he did in the first one. Writers should have taken much more care in creating innovative situations for this trio to explore. This season does underwhelm in many aspects and it could have been much much better with even more imaginative writing. Performances wise and even the production values doesn’t really appeal to us. May be makers have been in hurry to give another season, one tends to feel so.

Positives:
Few one-liners
First episode
Some jokes

Negatives:
Lethargic writing
Underwhelming jokes
Irritating characters
Very routine situations

Save The Tigers Season 2 Web Series Bottom-line: Underwhelming for the hype
