Rakshit Shetty needs to deposit Rs.20 Lakhs in Delhi HC

Rakshit Shetty, Kannada actor-writer-director-producer, has earned a huge name and fame, all-over India with his recent movies. His 2022 release, Charlie, won National Award for best regional movie in Kannada. Now, the actor has been further pushed into a legal pickle. Delhi High Court has ordered him to deposit Rs.20 Lakhs in the ongoing copyright infringement case.

In his recent production release, Bachelor Party, makers used popular songs ‘Nyaya Ellidu’ and ‘Omme Nehe…’at apt situations. An audio label MRT Music Company has moved to High Court claiming copyright infringement on part of the makers. Rakshit Shetty has applied for anticipatory bail in this case, already.

When asked he stated that his audio label company. Paramvah Music, will answer about their position in the Court. Now, HC has ordered Rakshit Shetty to deposit Rs.20 Lakhs in this case, immediately. MRT Music alleged that Paramvah Studios, the production house of the actor-producer, have used the songs without proper authorisation. They filed case under Section 63 of Copyright laws.

Rakshit Shetty received summons to appear in the court. He failed to appear and now, HC has asked him to deposit the amount immediately. Also ordered Paramvah to take down instagram posts using the songs. The actor has already appeared in front of police for interrogation. With this new order, he is further pushed into legal pickle. The actor did not react to this development yet.
