Raashii Khanna’s Comments on South vs North Film Industries Spark Debate

Raashii Khanna's

Raashii Khanna’s recent comments about the differences between South and North Indian film industries have gone viral, sparking a lively debate on social media. The actress, who is promoting her upcoming Telugu film Telusu Kada, said that South Indian actors are more humble and respectful, while many in Bollywood tend to behave in a showy manner.

She praised the South Indian industry for maintaining a friendly, family-like atmosphere and for giving great respect to heroines. “When I work in Tollywood, it feels like being part of a family,” Raashii said, adding that Telugu fans always shower her with love and support, even for her non-Telugu films.

Raashii also spoke about the difference in work culture, noting that Tollywood follows a strict schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Bollywood and Tamil industries often have 12-hour shooting days, which she finds more tiring.

Her remarks have divided netizens. Some criticised her, saying she made such comments because she has fewer roles in Bollywood. Others defended her, arguing that she was only sharing her personal experiences.

Responding to the controversy, Raashii clarified that her comments were based on what she had personally observed during her career. She also expressed hope that her upcoming film Telusu Kada, co-starring Siddu Jonnalagadda, will perform well and open up more opportunities for her in Tollywood.

After a long break from Telugu cinema, Raashii is returning to the big screen with Telusu Kada, which is set to release on October 17. She is actively promoting the film and has high expectations for its success.

Raashii Khanna’s honest views have reignited discussions about work culture and respect in the Indian film industry, highlighting the growing admiration for South cinema’s professionalism and warmth.
