Prabhas's Raja Saab

Prabhas’s much-awaited film Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, was officially set for a December 2025 release. However, fresh reports suggest that the film may not be ready in time, raising doubts about whether it will hit cinemas as planned.

Production for Raja Saab has been going on for over two years, and fans were eagerly waiting for the December date. But the film’s post-production, especially the heavy VFX work, is reportedly taking longer than expected. Since Raja Saab is a horror-comedy thriller, the visual effects are key, and the makers want to ensure high quality.

This delay could push the film’s release to Sankranti 2026—one of the biggest movie seasons in South India. But that date already looks crowded. Chiranjeevi’s film with Anil Ravipudi is scheduled for a Sankranti release and is nearing completion. Other films also joining the race include Ravi Teja’s upcoming project, Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Vijay’s final Tamil film, Jananayagan. Sivakarthikeyan’s Parashakti and a likely Suriya-Balaji film are also expected.

Film analysts say releasing Raja Saab alongside so many big titles could create stiff competition and confusion among audiences. Many believe Prabhas doesn’t need a festival release for success, and the makers might choose either a solo December 2025 release if ready or delay it further to summer 2026 to avoid the Sankranti rush.

Some fans still hope for a 2025 release, even if it comes later in the year. However, unless director Maruthi officially confirms the new release plan, nothing is certain.

Until then, fans will have to wait and watch whether Raja Saab arrives this year, early next year, or even later.
