Rebel Star Prabhas, who has achieved global recognition, revealed that he recently suffered an injury. The actor shared that he sustained an ankle injury during the shoot of his upcoming film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Due to this, he announced that he will not be able to attend the promotions for Kalki 2898 AD in Japan.
Addressing his fans, Prabhas mentioned that he is recovering and will soon return to work. However, the news of his absence from the Japan premiere has disappointed his Japanese fans. The injury required him to take rest, leading to the cancellation of his planned trip to Japan for the promotional event.
Expressing his apologies in Japanese, Prabhas posted a heartfelt message through the official Twitter handle of Kalki 2898 AD. He wrote:
“To my dearest fans in Japan, I regret that I won’t be able to join you for the premiere due to my injury. I hope you enjoy the film and I look forward to meeting you soon.”
The Japanese premiere of Kalki 2898 AD is set to take place on December 18, 2024, ahead of its theatrical release on January 3, 2025, coinciding with Japan’s New Year celebrations, Shogatsu.
Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD is India’s most expensive film, with a budget of ₹600 crores. The futuristic mythological sci-fi epic is set in the year 2898 AD in the fictional city of Kashi. Featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, the film has already amassed ₹1,200 crores globally since its release on June 27, 2024.
This marks a major milestone in Indian cinema, and fans in Japan eagerly await the film’s release.
