Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sivasakthi Dutta, father of renowned music composer M.M. Keeravani. Dutta, a respected writer and painter, passed away recently.
In an official statement, Pawan Kalyan shared his condolences, saying, “I was saddened to learn about the death of Shri Sivasakthi Dutta, father of celebrated music director Shri M.M. Keeravani. I pray for peace to his soul. He had a deep love for the arts and literature. With strong knowledge in Telugu and Sanskrit, Shri Dutta penned lyrics for several films. I offer my heartfelt sympathy to Shri Keeravani and his family during this difficult time.”
Sivasakthi Dutta was known for his passion for storytelling and fine arts. He not only contributed as a lyricist but also took part in film direction. Along with his brother V. Vijayendra Prasad, he directed the 1996 Telugu film Ardhangi, which starred Anand and Ravali. The film was produced by Katragadda Prasad under the Vasudha Chitra banner, with music composed by M.M. Keeravani.
Interestingly, before Ardhangi, Dutta also directed a solo film titled Chandrahaas. Reports from that time mentioned that he and his team would first write the songs, compose them, and then build a story around those tunes, showcasing his unique creative process.
Currently, M.M. Keeravani is working on the soundtrack for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, which is set to release on July 24.
The Telugu film industry mourns the loss of a creative soul whose contributions will be remembered for years to come.
