Popular Telugu actor Nara Rohit will release his latest film, Sundarakanda, on 27 August, as announced on his birthday. His birthday falls on 25 July, and the film’s team released a special video to share the news.
Sundarakanda is scheduled for release during the Vinayaka Chavithi festival. The makers believe the long weekend will benefit the film at the box office, as the release date is a Wednesday.
This is Nara Rohit’s 20th film. It marks the directorial debut of Venkatesh Nimmalapudi. The film is produced by Santosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankali.
The film stars Sridevi Vijaykumar and Vrutti Vaghani as the female leads. Music is composed by Leon James. The first single, Bahusa Bahusa, sung by Sid Sriram, has already become a chartbuster.
The cinematography is handled by Pradeep M. Varma, while Rohan Chillale is the editor. Rajesh Pentakota is the art director, and Sandeep is the executive producer.
The cast also includes Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatam, Vishwant, Roopa Lakshmi, Sunaina, and Raghu Babu in key roles.
Interestingly, the title Sundarakanda has been used in the past by two other films—one starring Venkatesh directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, which was a big hit, and another with Allari Naresh directed by Bapu, which did not perform well.
Despite the mixed history of the title, the makers of this new version are hopeful. With just a month left for release, the team is planning to increase promotional activities in the coming weeks.
