Actress Malavika Mohanan has made it clear that she is not interested in doing Hindi films only for popularity. The Malayalam and Tamil star, who is soon to make her Telugu debut with Prabhas in director Maruthi’s upcoming film, said she prefers projects that truly excite her.

Speaking in a recent interview, Malavika recalled her journey in Bollywood, where she acted in Beyond the Clouds and later Yudhra. Neither film gave her the breakthrough she had hoped for, and there has been talk that she might sign a Hindi romantic comedy. But she explained why she is not rushing into such choices.

“I am very clear about one thing. At present I am doing amazing films in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. I don’t want to do Hindi films just for the sake of a name,” she said. “There is no excitement for me in such projects. After a point, you ask yourself – do I really want to give five months of my life to this?”

Her candid comments quickly went viral on social media, with many praising her honesty and clear vision. Fans noted that she is carefully choosing roles that bring out her talent rather than chasing stardom alone.

Malavika Mohanan, who has already acted in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films, is now concentrating on South Indian cinema. Observers say each of her roles feels fresh and shows her hard work, adding to her rising popularity.

Her Telugu debut opposite Prabhas, set for release during Sankranti, is one of the most awaited films of the season. While it remains to be seen whether she will return to Bollywood in the future, Malavika Mohanan’s focus for now is on meaningful films that inspire her.
