Kaanta Laga Shefali Jariwala

Shefali Jariwala, best known for her appearance in the hit 2002 remix video Kaanta Laga, has sadly passed away at the age of 42. The actress reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on the night of 27 June 2025. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai, but doctors confirmed that she had died before arriving.

Police are treating the case as an accidental death. A post-mortem has been completed, but the exact cause of her death is still under investigation. While initial reports suggest a heart attack, her family has not confirmed this publicly. Officers have said they are awaiting full medical reports before drawing conclusions.

Shefali Jariwala gained fame early in her career through Kaanta Laga, which became one of India’s most iconic music videos. She later appeared in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Hudugru, and took part in popular reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13.

Her death has left fans, friends, and celebrities in shock. Several well-known names in the entertainment industry, including Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan, expressed their sorrow and paid tribute on social media.

Health experts are using this tragic event to raise awareness about increasing heart-related issues among younger adults in India. They stress the importance of recognising early symptoms of heart problems and maintaining regular health check-ups, especially for people with stressful lifestyles.

Shefali had earlier revealed that she had struggled with epilepsy from a young age. Doctors believe conditions like this, along with high stress, can make individuals more vulnerable to cardiac issues.

Shefali is remembered not only for her talent and charm but also for the strong impression she left on the Indian entertainment world. Her passing is a deep loss to fans and the film fraternity alike.
