The recently released film Dude has made a strong start at the box office, earning over ₹95 crore worldwide in just five days, according to the makers. The film, which was released on 17 October as a Diwali treat, reportedly had a budget of around ₹60 crore, including actors’ and technicians’ fees and promotional costs.
Trade analysts say the movie generated good business even before its release and had been expected to gross around ₹120 crore. The first-day collection alone was ₹22 crore. Within two days, Dude had crossed the ₹50 crore mark, and by the fourth day, it had reached ₹83 crore. Analysts now estimate that the film will touch ₹100 crore in its first week.
Directed by Keerthishwaran, who previously worked as an assistant director on several films, Dude stars Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, with Beauty Mamitha Baiju as the heroine. Neha Shetty, known for DJ Tillu, plays a key role. The film also features Sharath Kumar, Hridu Haroon, Dravid Selvam, Sathya, and Aishwarya Sharma in important roles.
Sai Abhyanaker composed the music, while Nikith Bommi handled the cinematography and Bharat Vikraman was the editor. The movie, produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers by Naveen Erneni and Y. Ravishankar, combines strong commercial elements with a festive theme.
The makers have recently shared an update along with a new poster, stating that Dude continues to perform well at the box office, keeping the festive spirit alive. The new poster has attracted significant attention from cinema lovers.
Although the film received mixed responses from audiences for its storyline, it has been praised for its commercial appeal and strong performances. With its impressive early earnings, Dude has emerged as one of the notable releases of this festival season.
