Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, who made her mark with Badri in Telugu cinema, recently shared her thoughts on Gadar 2 and the changes made to its climax. The actress, who reprised her role as Sakina in the blockbuster sequel, revealed that director Anil Sharma altered the film’s original ending without informing her.
In an interview, Ameesha spoke about the initial plans for the film’s climax. “When Gadar was released in 2001, it became a massive hit. For the sequel, Gadar 2, there were high expectations from the audience. Director Anil Sharma had originally planned to have Sakina’s character, played by me, take a pivotal action in the climax. I was thrilled with that idea, and the producers had agreed as well,” Ameesha explained.

However, during the shoot, things took an unexpected turn. “When we reached the shooting stage, Anil changed the scenes, and now, Charanjit’s character (played by Utkarsh Sharma, Anil’s son) was responsible for the pivotal moment in the climax. I didn’t know about this change until it was already in motion. Despite that, I have a lot of respect for Anil. While I sometimes regret how things turned out, I’m still happy that Gadar 2 became a massive hit at the box office,” she added.
The film, which follows the success of the original Gadar, was a period action drama featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. Released last year, Gadar 2 grossed over ₹600 crores, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Ameesha’s performance, alongside Sunny Deol’s, was widely praised by both audiences and critics. With the success of Gadar 2, fans are also anticipating the possibility of Gadar 3, as announced by the film’s team.
Ameesha, who had previously starred in Telugu films like Badri, Nani, and Parama Veer Chakra, remains a well-known figure in both Bollywood and Telugu cinema.
