Delhi Rains: IMD issues red alert after heavy rainfall

Delhi Rains scare Old Rajendra Nagar people on 31st July

Delhi has been receiving huge rainfall from past few years. After going through hot summer, the city has been now receiving strong rainfall. On 31st July, within just one hour, the city received huge 112.3 mm rainfall. Immediately, IMD – Indian Meteorological Department, has issued Red Alert for coming few days.

Delhi Government after going through devastating Yamuna Floods last year, now is trying to prepare themselves for any sort of natural disaster. As the city got rocked with the huge rainfall in a short while, local AAP MLAs started reacting to flooding in several areas.

Majorly, Old Rajendra Nagar roads have been knee level water-logged and water entered into nearby coaching centres as well. As cars and vehicles have been caught up in the flood water, local MLA Durgesh Pathak reacted timely. Along with local Delhi police, students in various coaching centres of Rajendra Nagar reacted quickly and helped them in safeguarding the vehicles.

Several locals started sharing videos from Old Rajendra Nagar filled with flooded water. The cloud burst has been huge and IMD has scary predictions for coming days. Delhi government is trying to mobilize all the forces to protect people. Entire Northern India has faced cloud burst kind of conditions at the same time but Delhi received maximum rainfall.
