Stock Markets ended the first session of 2024, flat. Traders did not approach the trading on first day of 2024 with great confidence. They seemed very circumspect and also indices oscillated due to this fact. International Stock Markets also did not lend any positive vibes. Hence, BSE gained 31.68 points to close at 72,271.94 and Nifty gained 10.50 points to close at 21,741.90 mark.
BSE Sensex started trading high at 72,218.39 mark and then continued to trade between 72,031.23 to 72,561.91 range. Index has started lower than the previous closing. Actually, it grew towards the end and then traders went for making profits. Hence, BSE ended the trading session at 72,271.94 by gaining 31.68 points.
Nifty Sensex started trading at 21,727.75 mark and it hit highest for the day at 21,834.35. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,680.85. Index did not start on a positive note. But it kept oscillating in the mid-sesssion but it grew towards the end. But in the ending hour it went into selling pressure and Nifty50 ended by gaining 10.50 points on 21,741.90.
Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.23 against US Dollar on the first day of 2024. Nestle, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Coal India have registered gains in SENSEX30 index. Stock Markets have started with flat returns on the first day of 2024. But we have to wait and see, how International Markets drive in coming days.
