Stock Markets continued to register gains on 17th May, 2024. After hitting lows in previous sessions, investors kept investing in big stocks. The trend continued on 17th too. International Stock Markets helped the session to start on a positive note above previous closing. Foreign investors though looked to sell off their holds and hence, the gains have been limited.
Big Stocks attracted investors and this helped BSE to keep trading above 73,500 mark with few slips here and there, throughout. Even in Nifty50, big stocks saw investments and this index to post in good gains in this Stock Markets session. Hence, BSE gained 253.31 points to close at 73,917.03 and Nifty gained 62.25 points to close at 22,466.10 mark.
In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading at 73,711.31 and then continued to trade between 73,459.80 – 74,070.84. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,415.25 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,502.15. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 22,345.65.
Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.37 against US Dollar on 17th May 2024. Mahindra & Mahindra, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries and BPCL shares have ended up being Top Gainers. Cipla, TCS, Britannia, Hero MotoCorp and Nestle India have ended being Top Losers. Stock Markets have recovered well enough post big crash this week.
