Stock Markets ended flat with mixes results on 14th August

Stock Markets once again ended flat with mixed returns on 14th August. Investors did not really seem to be enthusiastic with even global markets ending with mixed results. IT sector saw huge growth with US economic data being positive. But all other sectors saw either decline or traded at similar level.

Going into the details, BSE started above previous closing but dropped again during intraday trading. With slight recovery, it ended in green by closing over 79,000 mark. Nifty IT index traded in profits but Nifty50 remained flat throughout the session. In totality, Big indices of Stock Markets, BSE gained 149.85 points to close at 79,105.88 and Nifty50 gained 4.75 points to close at 24,143.75 mark.

In this session of Stock Markets, BSE Sensex started trading higher than the previous closing at 79,065.22 and then continued to trade between 78,895.72 – 79,228.94. On the other hand, Nifty Sensex started trading higher than the previous closing too, at 24,184.40 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 24,196.50. While Nifty50 hit the lowest at 24,099.70.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.95 against USD on 14th August 2024. Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Mahindra & Mahindra ended as Top Gainers in Sensex. Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Bharat Petroleum Corporation ended as Top Gainers in Nifty50.

On the other hand in top indices of Stock Markets; Ultratech Cement, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corporation Of India, Indusind Bank, Bajaj Finserv stocks ended as Top Losers in Sensex. While Divis Laboratories, Hero Motocorp, Coal India, Ultratech Cement, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation ended as Top Losers in Nifty50. Markets will be closed for Independence Day holiday on 15th August.
