Stock Markets Update: Indices end flat after Budget

Stock Markets do not have enthusiastic reaction to Union Budget

Stock Markets ended flat after Union Budget 2024 has been presented on 01st February, 2024. Traders did not react much enthusiastically to budget overall. While during the opening hours, the traders have invested in infra, housing and railways sectors later they withdrew from others. Hence, BSE lost 106.81 points to close at 71,645.30 and Nifty lost 28.25 points to close at 21,697.45 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 71,998.78 mark and then continued to trade between 72,151.02 to 71,574.89 range. Index has started in a highly enthusiastic way and then crossed 72,000 mark as well. But then major IT stocks have underperformed. Finally, BSE ended the trading session at 71,645.30 by losing 106.81 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 21,780.65 mark and it hit highest for the day at 21,832.95. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,658.75. Index has started off above 21,775 mark and then they have managed to go above 21,800 mark. But again big stocks did not attract major investments. Hence, Nifty50 ended by losing 28.25 points on 21,697.45.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.82.98 against US Dollar on 01st February, 2024. Maruthi, Axis Bank, NTPC, SBI, TCS, HDFC Bank, ITC, IndusInd Bank shares have ended up making major profits in this session. L&T, UltraTech Cements, JSW Steel, Titan, Bajaj Finance, Nestle India, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Bharati Airtel, Asian Paints have lost huge. Incidentally, Stock Markets did not have enthusiastic reaction to Union Budget, 2024.
