He continued to state, “At the same time, I know that you epitomise resilience. It has always been your nature to take challenges head on. Come back stronger! We are all rooting for you.” Every Indian resonate with the same emotion expressed by PM Narendra Modi. Vinesh Phogat saw that her weight is above the required margin post Semi-Finals, on 6th August.
Overnight, her team and she worked hard to reduce her weight. But she was found 100 gms overweight. It is heard that Indian contingent did not contest this decision against Vinesh. Some experts state that she would have ended with a silver medal had Indian officials would have pulled her out from finals sighting health issues.
Whatever might be the reason, Vinesh had to fight hard against politics in Indian Wrestling Federation for past two years. She got qualified to Olympics event after topping in Nationals. Now, unfortunately, some indecisions effected India a medal and even her historical wins have been overshadowed. Well, we hope she being champion, will recover from this too.
