India dominated Bangladesh and almost looked imperishable in their Super Eight clash of T20 World Cup 2024. While Bangla boys invited Indians to bat first, their bowlers failed to really restrict opposition batters. With contributions from almost everyone and Hardik Pandya’s big finish, Indian team managed a huge score on the board.
Unable to chase the target down, Bangladesh lost the match by 50 runs. Going into the details, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. Hoping to restrict Indian batters with spin, they packed their bowling attack with spinners. But Rohit Sharma(23), Virat Kohli(37) took on the bowlers to give an aggressive start. Rishabh Pant(36) took on the onus after Sharma got out.
Suryakumar Yadav(6) failed but Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya came together. After struggling at the start, they took on bowlers after 15th over. Dube scored 34 runs from 24 balls and Pandya scored 50 runs from 27 balls to take India past 190. Finally, Indian team posted 196/5 in 20 overs.
In the chase, Bangladesh batters struggled against Jasprit Bumrah while they took on Arshdeep Singh. Tanzid Hasan(29), Najmul Hossain Shanto(40) and Rishad Hossain(24) tried their best. But Indian bowlers restricted Bangla batters to 146/8 in their 20 overs. Majorly, Kuldeep Yadav(3/19), Jasprit Bumrah(2/13), Arshdeep Singh(2/30) and Hardik Pandya(1/32) took wickets.
Hardik Pandya performed well with bat and ball as an all-rounder in this match for India. Now, the team needs Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja to have a good game against Australia before Semi-finals. The team would wish for bowlers to keep their form intact. Let’s hope they enter semi-finals like a champion.
