Shreyas Iyer Talks about 2025 injury ahead of IPL 2026. IPL 2026 is around the corner and every Indian is just as excited. Starting from 28th of March 2026, the initial round of matches are scheduled till 12th of April 2026. Shreyas Iyer Talks About 2025 Injury Struggles

Shreyas Iyer has suffered a spleen injury in october 2025 during India’s ODI tour of Australia which demanded a lengthy recovery before he could be back to cricket again. It was not a very serious one, but it definitely took long duration to recover.

Talking about the injury and recovery struggles, Shreyas said, ”It is always challenging to come back after an injury. I had lost around 7kgs due to the injury, which was a severe one. Thankfully, I was back in good shape after two months, But gaining those 7 kgs back took a lot of effort. I enjoy challenges and that was one I had to overcome. I am glad I came through that phase and am back representing my team and also having represented India in the previous series”.

Talking about his role in Punjab Kings in IPL 2026 and gearing up for a strong comeback after the injury, the cricketer said, ”Expectations are high, which is fun. I love the challenge. But the important thing is that whenever we step in, we have to win. My eye is on the trophy. This is the period where we live as a family for two months”.
