KKR have been able to reach IPL 2024 final with an imperious win against SRH. In the IPL Playoffs 2024, Qualifier 1 match, they restricted SRH to a minimalistic score and chased it down in just 13.4 overs. Towards the end, it looked like SRH team has given up and hoped for just a miracle. Such had been the day for them. They did not get the start from their dashing openers and that restricted them to just 159 score.
Mitchell Starc came good on the D-day with an all important spell sending back Travis Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed in the powerplay. So, SRH looked like scraping through for the rest of the batting innings. In the chase, KKR again got an aggressive start from openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz(23) and Sunil Narine(21).
Venkatesh Iyer and Captain Shreyas Iyer came to the middle and continued to be aggressive. SRH bowlers did not have any answers and even Pat Cummins looked pale. Both the KKR batters have finished the match in the 14th over. Venkatesh scored 51 runs from 28 balls while Shreyas Iyer tore into Travis Head in the final over. He scored 58 runs from 24 balls. KKR reached roaring into final like Royal Bengal Tigers.
KKR with such a dominating win have sent shivers down other teams. RR and RCB would play eliminator on same ground on 22nd May. They both would be worried about making plans to stop SRH onslaught in Qualifier 2 and even win Eliminator against the other. If SRH manages to win on 24th May in Chennai, they would have different plans for KKR on 26th May. But psychologically, they would be on back foot.
