KKR have been able to come together as a team in this IPL 2024. They seem to have been able to find the cog that is missing in their wheel to take this journey in successful manner. Sunil Narine and Phil Salt have been giving them destructive starts for first wicket. Andre Russell has been delivering with ball and bat. Hence, they seem to be entering into Playoffs at 1st or 2nd position.
In their match against MI, KKR did not allow the 5-time champions get any consolation win. Hardik Pandya, the captain of MI, chose to field first after winning the toss. Sunil Narine left a yorker by Jasprit Bumrah and got bowled for his first ball. KKR also lost Phil Salt(6) and Shreyas Iyer(7), early. Venkatesh Iyer(42) and Nitish Rana(33) came good and kept run rate healthy.

Andre Russell(24), Rinku Singh(20), Ramandeep Singh(17) got KKR 150 and scored 157/7 in 16 overs. In the rain hit match, the match has been reduced to 16 overs per team. Piyush Chawla(2/28), Jasprit Bumrah(2/39) took maximum wickets for MI. In the chase, MI brought in ex-captain Rohit Sharma as impact sub to open the innings.
But he could not give any kind of impetus to the innings. While Ishan Kishan(40) has teed off in the powerplay giving Mumbai, a good chance to win, Rohit Sharma scored only 19 runs from 24 balls. Suryakumar Yadav scored 11 runs from 14 balls. With both the stars not firing, MI lost their way after powerplay. Hardik Pandya(2), Tim David(0), Nehal Wadhera(3) failed.

Tilak Varma scored 32 runs from 17 balls and tried to give MI, an actual chance to win. Naman Dhir got in few big shots and looked like giving Tilak a good hand. KKR spinners have dented MI innings and they won it for their team by 18 runs. KKR has cemented their spot in IPL playoffs with 18 points and they could qualify at No.1 position, too.
