IPL 2024: Abhishek Sharma gives an easy win to SRH against CSK

Abhishek Sharma has set up an easy win for SRH in the chase

CSK batters have been destructive in the first two matches, the team played in IPL 2024. But in the next two, the batters haven’t been up to the task as much as the team needed. Ravindra Jadeja is not in his best form and he is unable to be the destructive finisher that team needs as MS Dhoni is reluctant to come to bat above him. And that effected CSK’s approach in the match against SRH.

Earlier, SRH have won the toss at their home ground in Hyderabad and elected to field first. They have implemented their bowling plans to dashing opener Rachin Ravindra. He got out early after scoring 12 runs and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad(26) also did not find great rhythm. Shivam Dube(45) gave necessary momentum with 187.50 SR.

Ravindra Jadeja(31) and Daryl Mitchell(13) could not score as quickly as CSK needed. They managed to put up only 165/5 on the board in their 20 overs. In the chase, Abhishek Sharma just took the game away from CSK with 37 from 12 balls in the powerplay. Aiden Markram took them home with a 50 in 36 balls and got out after confirming a victory.

Travis Head(31) did his part. CSK spinners tried their best to control the innings in the mid-overs but as the damage is done in powerplay, they found themselves running behind the game. SRH scored 166/4 in 20 overs and won by 6 wickets. CSK still a better NRR than SRH but they need some big wins in next matches to keep holding on to their place in Top 4. SRH is looking to challenge all others as an unit.
